How to improve the health of your nails

ree

IBX Strengthen & Repair, a natural nail treatment.

The majority of people are hard on their hands and nails. We use our nails as tools more often than we think. And sometimes, we don't realize we are causing more damage to our nails simply by over buffing or using products that don't help. My clients always ask, "How do I get nice, strong nails?"

Sorry to break it to you, but there isn't a magic pill we can take. But there are several things we can control and follow in order to obtain healthier nails. Healthier nails, hair, and skin always start with proper nutrition. Meaning lots of fresh foods and water in your diet! It's important to stop using your nails as tools, too. Don't use your nails to scrape things off, or to break the tape seals from your Amazon packages! I would also recommend people to use gloves when doing the dishes. Excessive water exposure can cause your nails to split at the free edge. Another thing to note, stop picking the gel polish or acrylic off! That most likely will strip away several layers of your natural nail. Products are meant to be soaked off or removed by a professional properly.

If you feel like you've tried all the above and still no luck, I would highly recommend an IBX treatment. This is a 2-step product made by Famous Names to help protect, repair, and strengthen your natural nails. It is a brush on monomer that requires a 75-100 watt light bulb and LED/UV lamp to cure. If your nails are thin, brittle, and pealing, your nail tech should use BOTH the IBX Repair and Strengthen. IBX Repair is mainly for visible damage. If you have relatively normal nails and are just looking to maintain strong nails, just use IBX Strengthen. IBX Repair and Strengthen fills in any gaps or dips you may have. It also becomes part of your nails once cured properly. Many standard salons offer this treatment at an additional cost, and it is worth a try. Most people see instant results, but it can vary based on the condition of your nails. Be patient. Some may require several treatments. And always, please remember to moisturize your nails with cuticle oil
