Delicious coffee, but crappy leadership?

Spyhouse Caramella, from Spyhouse Coffee.

It's humid, muggy, and gross out. The sun is up so I shouldn't complain, right? It's been averaging 90°F in Minneapolis, and I still want a hot latte. I must be insane! But you know what? I'll break a sweat just for one! The Spyhouse Caramella contains organic vanilla and caramel. My favorite! It had a fresh, nutty taste, and didn't disappoint! These drinks were from a previous visit to Spyhouse Coffee in the Whittier neighborhood.

There's been a lot of buzz on social media lately about how Spyhouse Coffee was racist towards Native and black people, in and around their shops. I can't quite find the details on it, but I read on someone's IG that this happened several years ago. An email was sent out to staff about how criminals come out when the weather warms up. This info resurfaced, and Spyhouse was salty! They made an official statement acknowledging they've done wrong, apologized to the community, and are committed to creating a more diverse space. Impressive, or nah? I'm not sure what my feelings are, but I do know for a fact that we can't ignore this. It's racist and not acceptable. I get it that it's human nature to make mistakes, but it's more important that we learn from them. It's a baby step in the right direction for Spyhouse, but talk is cheap! Now we need to see some action!

Spyhouse is a local business in the Twin Cities, and I would hate to cancel them. So, I'm looking forward to seeing their commitments come to life

Sounds like a delicious drink, especially with that organic vanilla and caramel combo! I love the Spyhouse Caramella too. Do they offer a decaf coffee version for those of us who prefer a caffeine-free option on a hot day?
