Full Swarovski crystal nail, in the color Crystal AB.
As I mentioned in a previous post, there are multiple ways to apply Swarovski crystals to your nails. My current #1 preference is using Akzentz Gel Play - Bling On. And my favorite color of Swarovski crystals is Crystal AB--short for aurora borealis ;) It's a classic choice you can't go wrong with!
For a full crystal nail, I typically start with one or two thin coats of a fun, silver glitter gel on the nail. This is the trick to making it less obvious if you have any imperfections in your crystal placement. Then, apply a generous amount of the Bling On gel to the entire nail. Apply enough so the crystal will sit nicely on the gel and not flood the edges. There is no written rule of where crystals should be placed, but have some consistency. For a neater look, place the crystals vertically, then work from the center of the nail, out towards the edges. Bigger stones should be placed in the center. Also, make sure your crystal placement is somewhat symmetrical. It's super helpful to have a variety of sizes available. My favorite sizes to work with are ss5, ss7, and ss9--short for stone size! Once you're satisfied with your placement, cure it in an LED lamp for 30 seconds. Lastly, carefully cap the edges around the crystals with a sturdy gel top coat to secure them, then cure again.
If you think about it, placing the Swarovski crystals is like placing petals on a flower. Not every petal will be the same size, but they're in some kind of arrangement. Enjoy, and I hope you find this helpful ❤
